FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...

The following are a series of questions we are asked regularly, we hope you find them informative and put your mind at ease before your Fantasy Spray Tan appointment:

Q.              What exactly does the Fantasy Spray Tan solution contain?

The main ingredient is something called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which has been used in the cosmetic industry for over 30 years! DHA is made from sugar and does not contain any potential harmful chemicals. It does not contain alcohol, which has a drying effect on the skin, unlike many self tanning products currently on the market. The solution contains Aloe Vera which is a skin softener and therefore is actually beneficial to the skin!

Q.              How does the Fantasy Spray Tan solution work?

Once your tan is applied the solution dries, the active ingredients then go through a 6-10 hour process we call the development period. The DHA within the solution changes to sugar which then combines with the amino  acids to form something called melanoids, which creates your individual perfect tan in relation to your own particular skin type!

Q.              Will my tan take immediate effect?

There is an instant colour clearly visible immediately after the tanning session although your tan will, as previously mentioned, go through a “development period”. This is a minimum of 6 hours, however you’re your optimum tan will be achieved in 8-10 hours. We strongly advise that you don’t wash, shower or bathe during this development stage!

Q.              What kind of colour is achieved by my Fantasy Spray Tan?

Because the solution reacts with the skin’s own tones and amino acids, your tan will develop to a shade to suit your natural colouring, whether that’s dark or fair!

Q.              Is it safe?

People are becoming more and more aware of the damaging effects of the sun and UV tanning, including skin cancer! Your Fantasy Spray Tan will give you a maximum glow without exposing the skin to any harmful UV rays!

NB: If you have Asthma, Eczema, Psoriasis, aggravated or broken skin, doctors approval MUST be sought!

Ladies— We can treat you when pregnant as there are no harmful chemicals, we advise doctors approval! We cannot treat you if you are breastfeeding, as particles may be taken in orally by baby!

Q.              Can I keep my contact lenses in during my tanning session?

Yes. Your eyes will be closed during the application to the facial area, once the eyes are open the mist will not affect your contact lenses!
